Boredness...

Demetri was bored in the common room.

Lily sat at a table with several books propped open. She was trying to finish the homework she had layed off for the past week.

Demetri saw Lily and realized they rarely ever talked.He sat in a chair across from her.''It's Lily,right?''He asked.

Lily jumped. "Uh, yeah, and you're Demetri, Fiera's man" she said knowingly.

Demetri smiled and nodded.''Do you need any help studying?''

Lily shook her head. "No, no, I got it" she said, though she was only halfway done with everything and it was almost midnight.

Lily sighed and threw quill onto the paper. "I give up!" she yelled, startling the people around her. She put her head in ehr arms.

Demetri didn't know how to respond exactly.

Hugo walked in with hsi friends, and they were all laughing at something Hugo had said.

Lily's body shook slightly.

Demetri looked over at Hugo.Then at Lily,then he looked down hoping Hugo didn't get the wrong idea from him being so close to Lily.

Hugo and his friends disappeared upstairs to their dorm, then came back down without their robes and books. Hugo walked out of the common room with his hands in his pockets.

Lily looked up after he had left. "Did he buy it?" she asked.

"My act!" Lily said, exasperated. Hugo's friends laughed their way after Hugo, the portrait slamming shut behind them.

Lily grabbed her quill again. "Is that help offer still up?" she asked.

"My potion essay. I need to explain why the- oh, crap, what was it's name?" Lily began flipping through her books.

Demetri waited patiently.

Lily flipped quickly. "Oh yeah! Why is boomslang skin so important in love potions?"

"But the essay has to be a foot long!" She said frustratedly. "I can't write a foot with just that!"

Lily shrugged. "I guess it's my fail, and my dead body" she said, thinking about what her parents would do if she failed.
